The era of the American Revolution and the years following it are of critical importance in the study of U.S. history. The thirteen coloniesbecame the United States. The new nation formed its government structures. This course will use graphic organizers, map information, media technology, textbook, and supplementary reading materials to study this era.
All school-wide rules explained in the IICSN Student Handbook are to be followed during class. Class rules include: Asking questions at appropriate times, following verbal/written directions, and respecting the learning environment of the classroom for all students.
-All homework or projects are to be completed by due date. Partial credit will be given for all work turned in by students.
It is important for students to learn about every country in the world regardless of race, religion, or language. This course is designed to meet required skills and knowledge outlined by CCSD 8th grade Social Studies standards. Standards include: Map Skills, physical & human characteristics of place, complexity of cultural mosaic of the world, process, pattern, & function of human settlement, and how physical systems ( climate, resources, etc.) affect human systems.
