Matthew McAlister

Greetings parents as a way of preparing our students for the CRT tests every Friday is what we call "Intense Friday". For the morning hours we will concentrating on teaching math and in the afternoon we will be learning Language Arts. The children have access to Study Island (www.studyisland.com) this sight is excellent for teaching them the topics they will need to know for the CRT's. In addition I recomend Kids College (www.kclogin.com) this sight does great work on both topics as well. For spelling the children are learning their sight words I have given them a list to study they should be taking these home to study.

 

The rules for my class are simple:


Math:

Students are studying Congruence in Motion which is chapter 11-1 in their math books The children are also gearing up to take the CRT's by working on Studyisland. Studyisland is an excellent website for math and reading.

Language Arts:

The children are continuing to work on editing, proofreading, and writing skills. They have been reviewing contractions, homophones, synonyms and antonyms.
