A bright new year has begun!! We are making progress towards our goal of becoming well prepared Second graders.
Each student has made progress in their reading abilities and skills. Here are a few things you can do at home to help them continue to become better readers.
Sight words are words that appear in text frequently or words that do not follow the phonics rules. In order to increase a child’s fluency in reading, these words need to be memorized. Your child needs your help in learning recognize these words. They do not need to spell these words but they need to recognize them. Addition and Subtraction Flash cards- We are continuing to work on our math fact skills. Flash cards are a quick and effective way to help your child master these math facts.
Desert TortoiseI teach the Desert Tortoise Global. We learn about the desert Tortoise and its habitat. We also learn about our world and its natural resources. Students are encouraged take care of our desert and our world.
