Personal Finance classes will be finishing learning about credit and debt problems that come up. How can these debt problems be resolved and allow consumers options for future loan and credit opportunities.
Marketing classes in February will begin to focus on the selling process. They will learn what kind of knowledge a salesman must have about the product and the the customer's motives for buying, what legal and ethical issues come up in the selling process, and what the main focus of preparation is in retail selling.
Personal Finance Personal Finance classes beginning to study credit at the beginning of this semester. They are reading about the advantages and disadvantages of using credit cards, open-end and closed-end credit, short-term and long-term loans, how much credit actually costs consumers in the long run. They will learn the sources of credit, how to apply for credit, and how to read credit card statements and credit reports.
Marketing Marketing classes are looking at the skills needed to succeed in the marketing workplace. These skills include interpersonal skills, negotiation skills used to manage conflicts in the workplace and in customer relations, and personal traits necessary for ethical action in the marketplace. Our next chapter will focus on management skills and self-managing team functions.
The marketing textbook, Marketing Essentials 2009 is available online to finish assignments and/or to do research. There are also study aids available on the Glencoe.coe marketing and finance website. These include graphic organizers, e-flash cards, study notes, and outlines. There is also a math handbook available that will help you with basic math skills.
