Happy New Year to all of you. I will be sharing the middle and high school classes with my wife, Diane Mills, who many of you probably already know by now. I have returned by invitation of Dr. Malin and her team after finishing my active duty time with the U.S. Army.
I will help prepare our students for the High School Proficiency Exam which is rapidly approaching by teaching the sophmore and junior level classes. I will utilize my own experiences of recent science classes in genetics and meteorology. I also have work experience in geology and emergency medicine to add to background of what they will betaught.
Homework will soon be assigned and will be found on this page. It will be computer based so I hope our students will utilize their time in their computer class to get it done.
I will have the students future work schedule, homework and projects for all three grades here on this page. If you have any questions please contact me via e-mail, a note through your child or if necessary call the school for a message to be given to me.
For those of you who I am new to, this is a little about me;
This will be my fourth year teaching at IICSN. I had previously owned a trucking company here which I sold for a profit before the local economy slowed down. My teaching experience began with CCSD as they shuffled me around the middle school circuit in this area. Hence it is nice have a home here for more than one year in a row!
As I mentioned above, my wife has been teaching here since we began back in 2007 when we also brought two of our daughters with us to go to school here. Our oldest one aspires to graduate in a few years here with the friends she started with years ago.
I am currently working on additional classes beyond my Master's degree in Education in the field of science and classroom education.
Grading; I make every attempt to grade work everyday as all work done in and out of class is graded on a point scale that is explained and shown on the whiteboard where the assignment is shown and explained. I typically enjoy hands on activities which is typical of science so we will often include such activities. Students already successfully work in small groups which will continue. I hope to have guest speakers come in and if they can not then a conference call with them and the class will occur which has successfully been done many times in the past.
I am glad to be back after my extended break in college and the Army. I am excited for what is yet to come. Some of your children share this energy as every class that comes through my door never knows what kind of science demonstration they will see for the day.
Please keep in mind our school rules as I remind the students to dispose of their gum and enforce our cell phone rules. I treat your children like my own who is also one of my students! My level of patience is unwaivering as patience is one of the key skills learned in the Army.
Periodically I will be out for appointments to take care of injuries I have sustained while in the Army. I also have days where I will need to be absent for to attend in Army training which is typically one weekend a month, but occasionally it will encompass a Friday for travel needs.
Feel free to make an appointment to see me and the classroom your child sits in for science. I will add some links shortly and post homework assignments once our new schedule is adjusted in a week or
two.
Thank you for the opportunity to teach your children year after year.

***All students, this link is your homework due to me Febuary 3rd. ***
Read the instructions carefully. In the future homework will be due every Monday.
As I heal from my surgery I will post many homework assignments along with their respective due dates.
You will also find that I will combine homework assignments for all grade levels as the content needs to be learned by all.
Let me know of any problems in advance. You have enough time to get this accomplished.
