Luanne Poe

Welcome back from your summer break. I am so excited about the new school year and getting started on the music for our Winter Concert. The Winter Concert is set for December 10, 2010, so mark your calendars for this big event; you really do not want to miss it.

Below are some of the things you can expect your student to be learning this year:

Grading

  1. Students will be graded on Behavior Point Values. (see attached download)
  2. Information on composers:
    1. Four composer names will be given, the students choose one (1) composer from the list students at different grade levels will be required to get info according to their grade level, this can be accomplished by using the Computer Technology class (Mr. or Mrs. Martinez)
      • 1st and 2nd grade will fill out a form,
      • 3rd and 4th grade will fill out a more detailed form
      • 5th and 6th grade will need to write a paragraph with certain information required.
      • 7th - 10th grade will write one page with certain information required.

The first paper will be due on or before the week of October 25, 2010, but no later than the 27th. There will be four (4) papers in all for the whole school year. (100 points per paper)

  3. Answering "extra credit" questions which will be posted on the Music Bulletin board located outside my classroom. Questions will be changed every two weeks. Students have a form to fill out in my class room. It is the students responsibility to watch for the changes on the bulletin board. (5 points per question)
  4. Participation in the Winter and Spring Concerts. (200 points each)
