Happy Ground Hogs' Day, Happy Valentines' Day, Happy Presidents' Day and Happy 100th Day of School!
February will prove to be a fun and exciting month of celebrations and learning.
One two-sided page will be assigned each evening, Monday through Thursday. This will consist of one side of relevant math and one side of relevant language arts/writing practice. Students are to return the homework to the Homework Basket each day. In addition, a reading log will be given out each Monday, to be returned on Friday only.
Please read with your child at least ten minutes per evening and fill out the Reading Log each evening. Any sight word cards and paper-folded books sent home are to be kept at home for practice with your students.
Literacy: Continuing to sound out and blend CVC words; sight words: see, play, me, at, run, go, and, look, can, here, mom, red, get, school, be, over, home, he
Math: Measurement: comparing and ordering by size, comparing by length, ordering by length, comparing capacities, measuring by capacity, comparing weights, measuring weights; addition and subtraction concepts and practice
Science/Social Studies: famous Americans and their contribution to society; weather patterns and seasons; community helpers
.Please keep a spare pair of pants, underwear and socks in you student's backpack
.Please keep a small blanket or beach towel in your student's backpack for resting
.Please check you student's backpack daily for notes home from school or from me
We are always in need of snacks for the afternoon. If you are able, large packages of snacks such as animal crackers, gold fish, etc would be appreciated
