Middle School Academics

Extending Today's Learning to Continue Building a Strong Foundation for Tomorrow's Success
At Innovations, middle school students extend the strong foundational skills developed during the elementary years while exploring higher levels of creativity, leadership, technology integration, and hands-on learning. Through instruction aligned to the Nevada Academic Content Standards, students engage in meaningful learning experiences designed to strengthen academic achievement, communication, problem solving, collaboration, and future readiness.
Rigorous instruction from specialized content level teachers helps students develop confidence, collaboration, curiosity, and independence as they move between teacher-led instruction, guided practice, hands-on exploration, and technology-enhanced learning experiences. We believe students thrive when they are challenged, supported, and inspired to progress at the own highest potential. We believe that our middle school students can reach new heights of leadership through group work, active listening, and questioning to clarify understanding.
Cadet Learning Experiences - Building Independence, Leadership, and Future-Ready Skills
During the cadet years, students strengthen their academic foundations while developing independence, collaboration, leadership, and critical thinking skills. Through engaging instruction, guided practice, innovation, and exploration, students begin connecting classroom learning to real-world experiences and future pathways. At Innovations, Cadets participate in learning experiences that encourage students to think deeply, communicate effectively, solve problems creatively, and take ownership of their growth.

Grade Level Identity
Students at all grade levels learn to grow and lead through exploration and knowledge development. Our grade level identity noted below explain the category of learners while summarizing the characteristics of each learning and development phase.
Cadets (Grades 6-8)
Cadets extend the strong academic foundation set in the elementary school levels. This learning becomes integrated with personal growth to develop leadership, teamwork, and responsibility while learning to manage increasingly complex tasks.
More Pathways Ahead
As students continue into the high school years, additional opportunities for leadership, innovation, exploration, advanced coursework, and student pathways continue to expand.
