Academic Assessments and Student Progress
Innovations International charter school of nevada uses a variety of assessments and progress monitoring tools to support student learning, measure academic growth, guide instruction, and help students prepare for future academic success. assessment data are used alongside classroom performance, teacher observation, student participation, and instructional support systems to help meet individual student needs.
State Assessment
- SBAC - given to students in the spring for grades 3-8
- ACT - given to juniors each spring
- WIDA - given to new students who are English language learners at the beginning of the school year and each spring to measure student growth
- Science Assessments - given to grades 5, 8, and 9 students in the spring
Growth and Progress Monitoring
- MAPs - all students in grades K-8 to measure growth in Reading and Mathematics
- KEA - kindergarten entry assessment given to all kindergarteners during the first 45 days of school
- Classroom and curriculum-based assessments - given as benchmarks for growth and content mastery at all grade levels
- Progress monitoring - used at all grade levels to measure student growth, student needs for interventions, student needs for enrichment, and to assist in instructional planning
How Assessment Data Supports Students
Innovations International Charter School of Nevada uses student assessment data to help teachers identify student strengths, areas of challenge, and opportunities for academic growth. This information helps guide instruction, personalize learning experiences, identify and address knowledge gaps, and provide targeted support in reading, writing, mathematics, and other content areas.
Assessment data also help teachers monitor student progress, plan intervention and enrichment opportunities, and support students in developing ownership of their academic goals. By using multiple forms of assessment, teachers and students are able to develop a clear understanding of academic progress and student proficiency in relation to the Nevada Academic Content Standards and individual expectations.
Family and School Partnership
Families are encouraged to review student assessment information, communicate with teachers, and support student learning goals throughout the school year. Additional information regarding testing schedules, assessment expectations, and score reports will be shared with families as testing dates approach. To help maintain open communication and transparency, assessment calendars and important testing information are also published on the school's website.
Innovations International Charter School of Nevada follows all state mandated testing and complies with the testing windows that are required for each exam. The testing schedule is written and submitted for approval to the State every year. Please see the calendar below to see when your student(s) will be required to participate in state mandated testing.
