STEM
STEM is an educational program developed to prepare students for college and career readiness skills in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Using STEM skills and interactions makes learning fun for the students as they explore, experiment, and work within groups to learn more about the world around them. Students participate in a rigorous curriculum with an emphasis on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics content areas while learning how to read and write using new informational vocabulary, note-taking, and understanding informational text.
Students learn the art of scientific observation through robotics, astronomy, cybersecurity, coding, aviation, aerospace, and much more through their exploration laboratory classes. This curriculum gives students the chance to explore various topics using hands-on investigative learning.
Finally, students are able to teach their parents about what they learn in their explorations and elective area classes in our quarterly parent engagement nights. The school and its families will share in the enjoyment of investigating and experimenting with focused STEM based lessons on these assigned evenings four times a year.
