Tutorial Services

alt-text
Tutors meet with students to clarify and review concepts taught in class, explain processes and help students solve specific problems. The emphasis and content of the tutoring sessions is determined by the student's needs. At our school, tutors are funded with our Title I money and work with the students before, during, and after the academic day.

BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL TUTORIAL PROGRAMS

Innovations offers before and after school tutorial programs in reading, writing, and mathematics throughout the school year. Our tutorial programs give extended learning time to our students.

Our before school program begins at 6:30 a.m. each day.  Students receive academic assistance and breakfast before classes begin at 8:00 a.m.

Our after school program begins at 4::10 p..m. each day. Just like the before school program, students receive academic assistance and dinner each night they attend. Our after school  program ends at 6:00 p.m. each day.

There are no fees for these programs as they are paid for by the Title I Program.

During the Academic Day School Tutorial Program

Both of our campuses offer tutoring during the school hours in order to help students who are struggling. Students receive one-on-one or small group lessons weekly in the areas of reading, writing, and mathematics. The tutors also work with students on test taking skills as they work to close the achievement gaps at all grade levels assessed by state mandated testing.

The school is fortunate to have its tutorial program paid for by the Title I Program.

SUMMER TUTORIAL PROGRAMS

To prepare our students for the new school year and to enhance and solidify skills learned throughout the old school year, Innovations offers summer tutorial sessions to all students with interest in grades K-12. These small group classes are offered to help students minimize learning loss during the summer months and are usually conducted in June.

Enrollment for the summer tutorials are open to all students currently attending  the school and whose parents want extra assistance for their child.

There are no fees for this program as they are paid for by the Title I Program.
