Jr Explorer (Grades K-2)
Morning Community, Goal Setting, and Preview of Learning Objectives
Students begin the day building relationships, communication skills, and building classroom community. As the teacher and class review previous instruction while introducing the goals and objectives for the current day's learning, new vocabulary and concepts are introduced as focus points for the day.
Literacy, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science Foundational Learning
Teacher-led instruction develops reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills through engaging lessons and collaboration in learning. These 90-minute block of time help the teachers to develop the Teach-Practice-Explore (TPE) instructional framework while enriching individual or small groups of learners.
Hands-On Exploration
Students participate in science investigations, creative projects, technology-based and integrated experiences, and guided discovery activities. Students apply what they have learned through hands-on projects, guided inquiry, collaboration, and creative problem solving experiences that help deepen understanding and encourage discovery.
Innovations Studio
Junior Explorers may experience coding activities, robotics, drone flight, engineering challenges, virtual exploration, and AI-related learning activities.
Reflection and Growth
Students celebrate learning, practice leadership skills, and build confidence as independent learners.
Elective Area Courses
All students participate weekly in art, music, library, and physical education. These experiences are designed to encourage creativity, exploration, collaboration, and personal growth while helping students develop confidence, communication skills, and a lifelong love of learning.

Explorer (Grades 3-5)
Leadership and Collaboration
Explorers build responsibility, communication, and teamwork skills throughout the day. At these grade levels, teamwork and collaboration become essential elements of learning, sharing, and questioning what is learned. Students work daily in small teams as they prepare for this critical skill in the job market one day.
Academic Foundations
Students engage in rigorous instruction aligned to Nevada standards in literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies. Here is where students learn to take what they have discovered and sequentially put the pieces together to replicate what has been learned and mastered while seeking to answer questions that arise from the exploration phase of learning. Students also learn organizational and study strategies such as Cornell Notes and graphic organizers to help structure learning, strengthen comprehension, and prepare for state assessments. These 90-minute blocks of learning help the teachers to develop the Teach-Practice-Explore (TPE) instructional framework while enriching individual or small groups of learners.
Innovations and Problem Solving
Students apply learning through robotics, coding, aerospace exploration, STEAM projects, virtual learning experiences, and collaborative inquiry.
Exploration and Creativity
Hands-on projects encourage critical thinking, creativity, and real-world application of learning. Presenting and sharing the exploration phases leading to the solving of a real-world problem helps students to generalize and transfer what they have learned from teacher-led instruction to an actual real world application solving a given problem.
Future-Ready Learning
Explorers begin developing the confidence, adaptability, and innovation mindset needed for future success. Explorers continue building adaptability, leadership, innovation, and independent thinking skills needed for future success.
