Counseling Department

Innovations International Charter School of Nevada's comprehensive school counseling program is dedicated to fostering the social-emotional, academic, and behavioral skills necessary for students to thrive in school and beyond. Aligned with the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) model, our program provides comprehensive support to students from kindergarten through twelfth grade. We utilize data to assess student needs, design interventions, and evaluate program effectiveness. We uphold the ASCA Ethical Standards to ensure the highest level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in our counseling services.

At Innovations, we are committed to providing comprehensive support that addresses the diverse needs of our students. Our school counseling program plays a vital role in nurturing the whole child and preparing them for success in academics, career, and life.

Social-Emotional Development

Our counselors and social worker work to ensure that the social-emotional well-being of all students is a priority. Through individual and group counseling sessions, as well as classroom-based activities, the counseling department address topics such as self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision making. By promoting empathy, resilience, and emotional intelligence, our staff members create a supporting learning environment where students feel valued, understood, and empowered to meet daily challenges.

Academic Support

Student academic success is closely intertwined with social-emotional well-being. Innovations' counseling department staff members work collaboratively with students, teachers, and family members to identify academic goals and provide personalized support. From academic planning and course selection, to study skills and time management strategies, our staff members empower students to work toward reaching their full academic potential. Throughout the school continuous communication with students and family members is a critical element in helping students plan for academic achievement.

Behavioral Skills

Positive student behavior is essential for creating a learning environment where all students are supported and empowered to advocate for their own needs. Innovations' counselors and social worker utilize evidence-based interventions and proactive strategies to promote positive behavior and prevent disciplinary issues. Through behavior observations, behavior management plans, and targeted interventions, students are supported to develop self-discipline, impulse control, and conflict resolution skills by fostering a culture of respect, responsibility, and accountability. A safe and inclusive school community is provided for all students, family members, and staff.
