Through collaboration between teachers, intervention staff, academic strategists, counselors, families, and support personnel we work to identify student needs early and provide meaningful support designed to help students build confidence, strengthen skills, and continue progressing toward success.
At Innovations, we believe support services should not simply focus on helping students catch up, but also on helping students discover their strengths, develop independence, build resilience, and continue moving forward with confidence.

What is the difference between a tutor and an academic strategist?
A tutor helps students understand specific academic content they are currently struggling with. An academic strategist helps students build the long-term skills, habits, and systems needed to become more successful learners overall.
Tutor
Focus: Immediate academic support and subject understanding.
- Helps with specific assignments or concepts
- Re-teaches classroom material
- Supports homework completion
- Focuses on content mastery in a subject area
- Often works short-term to close learning gaps
Example: Helping a student solve math equations or understand a reading passage.

Academic Strategist
Focus: Learning behaviors, organization, and academic growth
- Teaches study and organizational skills
